New Preserve Manager - Graciela Hinshaw

Pine Hill Preserve Welcomes New Manager

The Bureau of Land Management's Folsom Field Office welcomes Pine Hill Preserve’s new manager, Graciela Melgoza Hinshaw. She replaces BLM biologist Al Franklin, who was the official Preserve Manager during 2002-2003 and interim manager since then.

Hinshaw comes to BLM from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Sacramento. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, she graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (BS), and obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Nevada – Reno.

Her work experience includes:

Botanist for La Campana Experimental Station, Mexico, conducting research in arid and semi-arid rangelands.
Working on conservation biology in California and Colorado, for the last 15 years, managing natural lands and contributing to the recovery of imperiled species.

Graciela is married with three children. She is excited to join BLM and eager to work on the conservation issues with the Preserve’s partners.
