Volunteering at the Pine Hill Preserve
Volunteering with the Pine Hill Preserve is a great way to help protect the health of the area for future generations. Volunteers are needed for periodic restoration and clean-ups; volunteer naturalists are also welcome. The Pine Hill Preserve needs the help of dedicated volunteers. Together we can protect, enhance, and share our knowledge of this unique area.
Join the Habitat Restoration Team
Organized groups, as well as individuals, are welcome to join the Habitat Restoration Team (HRT).
The following are examples of HRT activities:
- maintaining trails
- controlling erosion
- collecting seed
- planting native species
- restoring disturbed areas
- eradicating noxious weeds
- fencing off designated areas
Become a Volunteer Naturalists
Volunteer naturalists are the primary contact for visitors to the Pine Hill Preserve.
Volunteer naturalists can:
- lead nature walks
- speak to school groups
- staff information booths at public events
- share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the natural history and ecology of this unique ecosystem
Join the Preserve Watch Team
The Preserve Watch Team is comprised of friends and neighbors who observe, record and report activities and changes that occur at the Pine Hill Preserve.
